Free Films for the Confinement

I’ve just made About Beauty, my documentary about Dorothy Cross, freely available online for the first time. I’ve included with it a selection of my other films that are also free to watch - enjoy.

About Beauty

The story behind About Beauty is here

Happiness

A film in which pensioners, children, evangelists, drag queens, homeless people, advertising executives, recovering addicts, film buffs, Sunday shoppers and many other people talk about their experiences of happiness.

I made this film shortly after I’d decided to stop directing TV commercials, and in hindsight part of my reason for doing so was because I wanted to make a film that gave something to people.

Deep End Dance

Mother and son, above and below the surface. A short dance film, written and performed by David Bolger (choreographer and artistic director of CoisCéim Dance Theatre, Dublin) along with his 76-year-old mother, Madge Bolger. The film was shot in the Marian College swimming pool, where Madge worked as a swimming instructor for many years and where she taught David to swim.
