I have work in several upcoming exhibitions, as well as a major solo show in the autumn.
I’m absolutely thrilled that my project Post-State is being given a solo exhibition in the Royal Hibernian Academy next October. The work is intended to be read like a series of glimpses into the future, showing what’s left behind in a post-state Ireland, and marks a new departure for me in terms of subject matter and photographic approach. I’m very grateful to have received an Arts Council Agility award in 2021 to support this project.
I’m also very happy that three images from my Disco Vegetables series will be featured in the Still exhibition at the SO Fine Arts Editions gallery in the Powerscourt Centre, Dublin. The show is part of this year’s Photo Ireland Festival, and will run from July 9th to 30th.
My portrait of Joy Gerrard will also be shown at the Photo Ireland festival along with my book New York City, which will feature in a special section on Irish photobooks. The festival runs from 7th July to 28th August. The portrait has also been selected for exhibition at the Royal Ulster Academy annual show, opening on October 13th.
There’s a lot happening at the moment, and it’s a great feeling to be able to go and see art in person again - I hope you enjoy it.
