Gallerist Olivier Cornet recently invited me to respond to his pocket urban forest - a group of ferns and silver birch trees planted outside his gallery on Great Denmark Street, Dublin 1, as part of his show on urban trees in May.
This proved to be one of most purely enjoyable shoots I’ve done this year, and the resulting work is on show in Olivier’s year-end exhibition, Compendium. It opens on Sunday 17th December at 2 o’clock and continues until the end of February.
“The garden was an important element of our group exhibition on trees and has become such an important fixture since then that I felt it was essential to find a way to immortalise it on paper as it were. I asked the artist, photographer Conor Horgan to respond to our special ‘green patch’ a few weeks ago. The result is pure magic.”
